We're just here at the house, enjoying a quiet morning sipping on coffee and nibbling on cheerios. Well, Magnolia wishes she were enjoying coffee. She spent the early morning watching Buzzyear and Woody (aka Toy Story 2) while I read. We'll probably continue with a pretty laid back day. Our big outing might be to the library a block away. I just finished reading Longitude and and am wanting to learn more about the sea captains and voyages that were briefly touched upon in the book. Captain James Cook, Captain William Bligh, etc. I don't know, I might pick up Mutiny on the Bounty. Any other suggestions? Anyway, I figured it was time to put up a few new pictures.

A surprise visit to the south
Well, the trip wasn't a surprise, but for some reason I hadn't mentally prepared for South Carolina being "the south." And though it's probably not as "south" as visiting Mississippi and Alabama, it still held some of the characteristically southern things that I've experienced..you know...churches and dollar stores everywhere, good BBQ, the strange juxtaposition between wealth and poverty that can all be seen within the same block. But it was a nice surprise as I really like visiting the south. The people are generally charming and the scenery is pretty. We spent Thursday night through Sunday morning visiting our old college friend Steve and his girlfriend Megan. It was a great time, and here are some of the Magnolia pictures from the trip.

Kansas Photos
I've uploaded most the photos from Kansas to my flickr account. It's a much easier site to upload large groups of photos to, so head on over to www.flickr.com/lesntrish to check them out. Oh, and disregard (or regard...either way) the self indulgent self portrait set. I'm trying to learn more about my camera, photography, etc through taking one self portrait every day for a year. Kinda weird and kinda cool. Anyway, check out the pics from our three week vacation.
