Nannie's bunting: we went for another walk tonight
and wrapped up in Nannie's bunding.

Mom and Dad Times

Just thought I'd throw a couple "then" and "now" pictures out there.
What a difference a few months make!

Mall walkers.

Please, please, can you just make one side chocolate? What?! No?! That's it...I'm outta here!
You could do vanilla though, right?

Wow...I'm a bad mommy. I just realized it's been a week since new pictures were up on the blog. Les and I got to get out of town two days last week thanks to my sister and wonderful friends of ours who watched her last Friday and Sunday. It was definitely a rejuvenating time that was much needed.

Magnolia and I got out of the house yesterday and went to the mall to walk around for a little bit. It's still a little too cold to walk outside for any length of time. Will spring ever get here? We saw a few moms from out birthing class, and Magnolia seems huge compared to them. She was only a week or two older than the other two, but seemed so much more grown up. Les calls it the Coates' chunk...he said he was a really big baby! There are a group of women who walk every Wednesday with their babies at the mall and invited me to join. Don't know if I will though...I'm not sure if I'm ready to be so "stereotypically" a mom yet. :)

Reflection on 3 months

I was looking back on some of my previous posts, especially those toward the first few weeks of Mags' life, and I realized how far she'd come in just a few months. She's pretty much on a schedule, and we've had no problem getting her to go so sleep at night and sleep all the way through. She barely even cries at all anymore, andhe's alert, talking, and happy most of the time. She's really turned into such a great baby. I figured I'd post a sleeping picture in homage to those first few weeks where that's all there was. Her nanny and great nanny always said you can tell when a baby is sleeping good if they've got their hands sprawled above their heads.

Old favorites retired; New favorites found

We had to officially put most of Magnolia's 0-3 month clothes away. It was a sad day, as we'd grown attatched to some of the little outfits. I guess it really means that we've begun the process of getting older.
She had what we considered to be her first laugh today. Wow...what an amazing a beautiful sound!!! It was a pretty big day in the Coates household. Les's theatre company, Gamaliel, got word that it's an official non-profit organization. Yippee!! That's been a long time in coming! And I found out one of my pieces got accepted into a National Ceramic show in San Angelo. Couple that with Magnolia's first laugh, and topping off the night with dessert at Panzanella's, and I'm not sure the day could have gone much better.

It's Spring....ha ha yeah right.

We pretended today that it was spring. The weather was beautiful and so Magnolia got to go on her first walk without having to be bundled to her eyeballs. We went and checked the ice on the river for dad. Not time for boatin' yet...still plenty thick. Soon though.....very soon.

Very Rare Pictures

The photographer rises early, grabs her Eggo waffles. She needs nourishment if she's going to complete the difficult task at hand....obtaining rare early morning sightings of a Magnolia blossom.

Yes, it is rare that Ms. Magnolia is up and about any time before 10am. What does she think, that she's in college already? No matter, I'll take it. She was up at 7:30 this morning, but it didn't last too long. She's already back to sleep.

Magnolia and Pooh

Are you a good bear or a bad bear?

Finally caught a big old smile on camera! Enjoy!
