Unseasonably warm weather

With the unseasonably warm weather we've taken the opportunity to get in some last minute beach wandering before it turns too cold. Here are a few shots from our recent outings.

Catching Up

Whew! It's been awhile. To my credit, I did try to put pics up a few times, but for some reason they would never download. Anway, the last month has been full of trips and visitors, so I'll start by posting pictures from our trip to Alabama and Mississippi at the end of September. We flew into Atlanta where Les' Aunt Carole met us and drove us back to her place on Highland Lake about 45 minutes north of Birmingham, Alabama. We spent a day or so there, got to spend my birthday lunch with her and her son Jason. That evening she watched Magnolia while Les and I spent some time exploring Birmingham. We happened upon a Greek food festival in downtown and enjoyed a delicious dinner. The next morning we started on our 4 hour trip to Belmont, MS where Les' Grandma Marty and Grandpa Harold live.

This is Les and Magnolia that first evening under the enormous sprawling Magnolia tree in Grandma and Grandpa's back yard, though unfortunately you can't really see the tree.

Grandma Marty started off by introducing Magnolia to one of her favorite things on the buffet at a local grill. The salad, referred to only as "pink stuff" was one of Magnolia's favorites, as is apparent by the size bite she's taking.

We had our waitress snap a quick picture of us all after the meal. The next morning we went to church with Grandma and then out to eat for Mexican food before we had to take off to visit more family.
After our stop in Belmont, we headed to just outside of Tupelo to visit with Fran's side of the family. They had all congregated at her sister Bobbi and husband Lester's house for a Sunday afternoon potluck. It was a wonderfully relaxing afternoon sitting in the Mississippi countryside.
This is Magnolia with Uncle Lester looking at their horses. With 2nd cousin (?) Sherri. (There are lots of family members on this side of the family, and I sort of have a hard time remembering how everyone is related to one another.
With Great Aunt JoAnn, with Great Aunt Bobbi and Sue in the background. Before driving back to Aunt Carole's we hooked up with Les' Aunt Teresa , cousins Brittany and Tonya, and her husband Michael and littlest girl, Emma Faith. We were taken to the best BBQ joint of the trip and then off to see Les' grandma's old house and Elvis' birthplace, since they're so near to one another. After one more evening with Aunt Carole it was time to fly back home. Though it was a great trip, it felt very much rushed, which only means we're excited to get back down there and spend some more time.
We snapped a few quick pictures of Magnolia and Aunt Carole before we got to the airport. They became very good buddies over the few days we were there.

We loved seeing everyone, and until next time......
